Vocational Nursing. (Diploma)

This is a licensed vocational nursing program designed to prepare students for direct patient care. Training is provided in the following areas. Patient care, nursing skills, medical surgical nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health, home health, hospice and rehabilitation.

Graduates will be able to function as part of the interdisciplinary health care team able to work with many kinds of patients. Graduates will qualify for entry level positions as a vocational nurse, these positions include, but are not limited to, staff nurse, industrial nurse, private nurse, practical nurse and general nurse.

The expectation of completing this program is to also pass the national council of licensure examination for practical/vocational nurses (NCLEX-PN Examination) which is a requirement for working in this field.
